Sevantilal Javeri founded the first family-owned diamond-trading company in 1935 and called the new business Sevantilal Brothers.
The company was a wholesaler of diamonds in Bombay. Soon the trading was extended to include diamond manufacturing and business operations throughout India. After World War II, Sevantilal moved to Antwerp, Belgium, to establish one of the first Indian diamond companies in Europe. In 1962, DeBeers selected Sevantilal and his sons as one of the privileged Indian companies
to be sightholders. The company opened an office in New York City
which brings us to where we are today.
